We are now seeking a dedicated IAG Support Officer to support 14 -18 year olds to join our team.

Role Overview

As a IAG Support Officer, you will provide tailored Information, Advice & Guidance (IAG) to young people navigating the crucial transition from school to further education, apprenticeships, or employment. You will support them in identifying their strengths, setting realistic goals, and accessing the opportunities they need to thrive.

Key Responsibilities

  • Deliver one-to-one and group IAG sessions for young people aged 14 –18.
  • Provide support with career planning, training options, apprenticeships, and education pathways.
  • Assist young people with CV building, application forms, interview preparation, and job search techniques.
  • Signpost individuals to external services, training providers, or employers where appropriate.
  • Encourage personal development, resilience, and positive decision-making.
  • Work collaboratively with schools, colleges, training providers, and employers to create opportunities.
  • Keep accurate records of support provided in line with safeguarding and data protection requirements.

Skills & Experience

  • Passionate about working with young people and helping them succeed.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills, able to build trust with young people from diverse backgrounds.
  • Knowledge of education, training, and employment pathways for 14 –18 year olds.
  • Ability to motivate and inspire young people, especially those facing barriers or challenges.
  • Organisational skills and ability to manage a caseload.
  • IAG Level 2/3 qualification (or willingness to work towards) desirable.
  • Experience in youth work, employability, careers guidance, or education support is an advantage.but not essential
  • Awareness of safeguarding, equality, and diversity principles.
